Building
Located on a heritage-rich Chelsea street, this infill development occupies a carefully considered site between two taller buildings within an architecturally diverse streetscape. Map Projects was commissioned to design a contemporary structure that would complement rather than compete with its historic surroundings.
The design response balances modern architectural language with contextual sensitivity. We created a distinctive yet restrained building, employing a refined material palette that responds thoughtfully to the street’s established character. The development’s positioning also captures exceptional views across the Chelsea Physic Garden, connecting residents to one of London’s most treasured green spaces.
Map Projects delivered comprehensive services throughout the project lifecycle—from initial concept design and financial feasibility studies through to project management and final delivery. This integrated approach ensured architectural cohesion and a solution that sits comfortably within Chelsea’s layered urban fabric.
